From October 19-24, 2014, there will be a community wide food collection sponsored by our church to respond the needs of people in the village of Fredonia and the surrounding communities. The food that is received will support the Fredonia Food Pantry. The goal of the challenge is for the community to collect 5 tons of food for our neighbors in need. Mayor Steve Keefe has endorsed the program and both the Fredonia Central School System and SUNY Fredonia are participating. Local businesses are also being asked to participate.
Starting October 19th, members of the Fredonia community are asked to bring food to their local participating businesses to show their support of their neighbors in need. Needed donations are non-perishable food items such as: cereal, canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, powdered milk and more. On Friday the food will be delivered to the Fredonia Presbyterian Church where it will be weighed and delivered to the Rural Ministry which is the church’s partner in the Fredonia Food Pantry.
